Men's soccer comes back to defeat Central

On Friday, he set up Drew Lukas for the game-tying goal at the 51:48 mark of the second half. Helling added the game-winner at 86:07 to give the Pipers (1-0) a 2-1 lead. Central (0-1), whowas favored to win the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in the league's pre-season coaches' poll, netted the game’s first goal on a Cody Stoermer tally at the 20:13. Junior goalkeeper Andrew Clement made 10 saves in the contest to earn the win. Dutch goalkeeper Greg Foote stopped five shots in the loss. Central held an 11-7 edge in shots on goal in the game. The Pipers will next play at Coe College on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. |
