Helling, men's soccer blitz Concordia

Senior Jacob Helling scored a pair of goals as the Pipers remained unbeaten with a 4-0 shutout win over Concordia Tuesday afternoon in Moorhead, Minn.

Helling scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season for the Pipers (7-0-1, 2-0-1 in the MIAC). Helling scored the eventual game-winning goal at the 32:15 mark of the first half. He later added a goal at 48:28 of the second half.

The win gives the Pipers their longest unbeaten streak to start a season in school history.

First-year Elvi Gacaj added a goal and an assist for the Pipers. First-year Matt Warhol also tallied a goal while first-year Evan Falon had two assists.

The Pipers held a 20-11 edge in shots and 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Hamline goalkeeper Andrew Clement picked up his second shutout of the season with three saves. Cobber goalkeeper Mads Schmidt stopped five shots.

The Pipers will host St. Thomas on Saturday. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
