Pipers shutout Carleton, remain unbeaten in MIAC

Hamline scored one goal in each half to defeat the Knights 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Pat Paterson fields. 

The Pipers (8-1-1, 3-0-1 in the MIAC) took an early lead at the 20:07 mark.  Senior Jacob Helling scored his ninth goal of the season.  Helling was assisted by junior Jason Engedal

Sophomore Drew Lukas clinched the win for the Pipers with a goal at 47:33 for his third goal of the season.  Helling earned an assist on the score.

The Knights (4-5-2, 1-3-2 in the MIAC) held a 12-7 advantage in shots over the Pipers.

Hamline goalkeeper Andrew Clement recorded five saves in the win.  Goalkeeper Ross Mattson made one save for Carleton.

The Pipers travel to Bethel on Wednesday.  The MIAC match is set for 4:00 p.m.
