UW-Superior shuts out men's hockey
UW-Superior (2-0), the 10th-ranked team in the country according to USCHO.com, held a slim 39-35 margin in shots on goal in the contest over the Pipers (0-2). The Yellowjackets scored three times in both the first and second periods for the victory. Andrew MacKenzie scored twice in the first period while Nate Rein added two second period goals. Hamline netminder Todor Petkov made 33 saves for the Pipers. Beiswenger stopped all 35 shots he faced, including 15 in the final period. Superior was 3-of-8 on the power play in the game. Hamline was 0-of-6 with an extra skater. The Pipers will play at UW-Stevens Point next Friday. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. |
