Auggies defeat men's hockey 6-3
![]() After a scoreless third period, the Pipers (7-17, 3-11 in the MIAC) gave up three goals from the 13:30 mark of the second period. to the 14:02 mark. A.J. Hau started the scoring with a power-play tally for Augsburg (11-9-4, 8-3-4). Aaron Johnson added an even strength goal 12 seconds later, and Shawn Bakke netted another power-play goal at 14:02. Hamline cut the lead to 3-1 on a Dustin Fulton goal at 17:23, but Brett May answered with his first of two goals on the evening before the second intermission. Both teams scored two goals in the third period. Hamline forward Jake Bergquist scored his first of the year at 3:03. Sophomore Michael McDonough added his third of the season at 15:43. Hamline goaltender Matt Wanvig made 25 saves in the loss. Auggie goaltender Andy Kent stopped 23 shots for the victory. The two teams will conclude the series Saturday night in Minneapolis, Minn. |
