Joe Long
The Hamline University men's hockey team fell 7-1 to UW-Stout on the road in their first contest of the 2007-08 season.

Hamline played UW-Stout even in the first and third periods, but couldn't overcome giving up four goals on special teams in the second period, a period in which the Blue Devils put six goals on the board. Three of UW-Stout’s goals in the period came on power plays and a fourth was a short-handed goal.

The Piper's lone goal was scored in the third period. Junior Joe Long's (Dayton, Minn.) score was assisted by classmates Dustin Fulton (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Steve Festler (Little Falls, Minn.).

Hamline remains on the road on Saturday, traveling to UW-River Falls for a 7:05 p.m. game.
