Men's hockey falls to St. Olaf 6-2
![]() St. Olaf (11-6-4, 8-3-2 in the MIAC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first 12 minutes of play. John Egge, Dylan Mueller, and Ted Bickel all netted goals for the Oles. After a Steve Festler goal cut the lead to 3-1 before the first intermission, defenseman Matt Zilles made it a one goal game early in the second period. His second goal of the season at 1:40 of the second period made the score 3-2. But the Oles stormed back with three unanswered goals. In a 35-second span, Barret Simons and Mueller netted goals in the second period to give St. Olaf a 5-2 edge. The Oles would add a single goal in the third period for the game's final tally. Sophomore Todor Petkov made nine saves in the first two periods to take the loss. Dan Kehler stopped 16 shots to earn the win for St. Olaf. The two teams will play again Saturday night at Drake Arena. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m. |
