St. Mary's shuts out men's hockey

Cardinal goaltender Curtis Nosal stopped all 28 shots he faced as St. Mary's completed a two-game sweep of the Pipers with a 3-0 win Saturday night in Winona, Minn.

The Cardinal (6-13-1, 5-7 in the MIAC) got on the board in the first period on a Tim McNamara power-play goal at 5:51.

St. Mary's would add a pair of insurance goals in the third period by Adam Fingerhut at 2:14 and Karl Reinke at 14:21.

Hamline (3-14-2, 2-7-1) was outshot 43-28 in the contest. Hamline netminder Todor Petkov stopped 40 shots for the Pipers.

The Pipers will travel to St. Olaf on Friday night. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
