Johnnies complete sweep of men's hockey

Four different Johnnies scored goals as St. John's completed the sweep of Hamline with a 4-1 win Saturday afternoon in St. Cloud, Minn.

After a scoreless first period, St. John's (6-2-1, 4-0 in the MIAC) scored twice in the first 4:18 of the second period to take the lead. Aaron Getchell started the scoring on the power play at 3:10. Jordan Swan gave the Johnnies a two-goal lead at 4:18.

Hamline (1-7-2, 0-3-1) cut the lead in half when Dustin Fulton scored short-handed at 16:06. It was Fulton's fourth goal of the season.

But the Johnnies added two more goals before intermission on tallies by Jake Hipp and Scott Bjorklund.

Hamline goaltender Todor Petkov made 33 saves in the game.  Johnnie Adam Hanna stopped 12 shots for the win.

Hamline will face Gustavus next Friday in St. Peter, Minn. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
