Men's hockey falls to UW-River Falls 4-2![]()
![]() The Pipers (1-10-2) fell behind early as the Falcons (7-3-3) took a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes of play. The Falcons held a 21-6 advantage in shots on goal after the first period. But Hamline hung tough in the final 40 minutes. Trailing 3-0, the Pipers scored their first goal of the game at 11:53 of the second period when Matt Zilles scored his first career goal. He was assisted by Pat LeClaire and Ted Urschel. The Falcons would answer with a power-play goal by Dustin Norman at 15:36 of the second period. The Pipers would score the only goal of the third period on Justin Hanna's fifth goal of the season. Hamline netminder Todor Petkov made 46 saves in the contest. Dan Meneghin stopped 24 shots to earn the win. Hamline will next play at Lake Forest on Jan. 13. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. |
