Foresters come back in third period to defeat men's hockey

Lake Forest netted three goals in the third period to beat Hamline 4-2 Friday night in Lake Forest, Ill.

Hamline (1-11-2) led 2-1 going into the second intermission. After a scoreless first period that saw the Pipers outshoot Lake Forest (8-8) 18-12, the Pipers came back from a 1-0 deficit with goals by Joe Long and Dustin Fulton.

Long scored Hamline's first goal of the game at 10:08 of the second period on an assist by Fulton. Fulton would add an unassisted goal at 14:44 of the period.

The two teams were equal in shots on goal after 40 minutes of play (29-29), but the Foresters controlled the play in the third period, holding a 16-7 edge in shots on goal.

Forester Chris Wilson would tie the game on the power play at 1:25 of the period. Wilson would later add the Foresters last goal of the game. Cory Wilson also tallied a goal for Lake Forest.

Cameron Voss made 41 saves for the Pipers while Brandon Kohuch had 34 saves to earn the win.

Hamline will travel to DePere, Wis. to face St. Norbert on Saturday night. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
