Thrasher named MIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Sophomore forward Tony Thrasher led the Pipers to a pair of victories and was named MIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Thrasher, from Hustisford, Wis., led the Pipers to a 2-0 week after averaging 28.0 points and 6.0 rebounds.

Thrasher netted 25 points in the Pipers' 73-67 win over St. Olaf on Monday. Thrasher shot 10-of-18 from the floor in the contest and grabbed eight rebounds. He scored 10 straight Piper points during an 18-7 run late in the first half en route to a 38-27 halftime lead over the Oles.

He celebrated his 20th birthday on Saturday by scoring a career-high 31 points on 13-of-22 from the field in Hamline's 85-81 win versus St. Scholastica.
