Men's basketball falls to Minnesota State![]()
![]() The Pipers (1-6) played even with the Mavericks (9-1) for the first eight minutes of the contest, but Minnesota State went on a 22-3 run sparked by 14 points from guard Luke Anderson. He finished with 24 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field. Jake Morrow came off the bench to net 12 points for the Mavericks. Paris Kyles netted 11 points, and Mitch Gossen scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Pipers, who were playing their second game against a Div. II opponent on the season, received 14 points from guard Jon DeRock. Sophomore Tony Thrasher added 11 points, and senior Kyle Foster chipped in eight points and nine rebounds for the Pipers. Hamline shot 33 percent for the game (20-60) while the Mavericks shot at a 42.4 percent clip (28-66). Minnesota State also outrebounded the Pipers 56-35 in the contest. The Pipers return to MIAC play when they travel to St. Olaf on Monday. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. |
