Thrasher named MIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Hamline first-year forward Tony Thrasher led the Pipers to three conference wins and was named MIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Hamline posted a 3-0 record on the week and moved up to a tie for second in the MIAC at 4-2.

Thrasher, from Hustisford, Wis., averaged 21.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per contest last week.

Thrasher scored 22 points on 10 of 14 shooting with six rebounds and four assists in Hamline's 95-85 win over St. Olaf on Monday. He added 15 points with nine rebounds in a 77-71 win over Macalester on Wednesday. On Saturday, Thrasher led all scorers with 26 points on 9 of 14 shooting (6 of 8 from three) with four rebounds to lead the Pipers to an 83-71 win over Augsburg.

For the season, Thrasher is eighth in the MIAC with 14.6 points per game.
