Gymnasts earn dual meet win over Winona State

The Pipers beat Winona State in three of four events to claim a 174.225-173.15 victory Sunday afternoon at the Walker Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Brynn Stenslie led the way for the Pipers, posting the highest score of the afternoon in the floor exercise with a score of 9.225. She also posted the Pipers highest score in the balance beam with a 8.65.

Hamline outscored the Warriors 44.825-43.4 on the vault, 44.05-42.3 on uneven bars, and 44.475-43.525 on floor. Winona State beat the Pipers 43.925-40.875 on balance beam.

Sophomore Kristen Weniger tallied a 9.2 in the vault while Stenslie posted a 9.075 for the two highest Piper totals.

Weniger and sophomore Kayla Sirmans finished 1-2 in bars with scores of 9.15 and 9.1, respectively.

The Pipers will next compete at Cal State-Fullerton next Friday night.
