Gymnasts win Hamline Triangular

Five Hamline seniors went out in style, winning the Hamline Triangular in their last home meet of the season Friday night at the Walker Fieldhouse.

In the last home meet for senior Katie Auge, Katie Davis, Betsy Garritson, Caitlin Goodin, and Carly Thompson, the Pipers scored 179.65 for the win. They defeated UW-Eau Claire with 176.625 and UW-Stout with 175.1.

Davis posted a score of 34.875 in the all-around competition. Davis' score of 9.3 on vault was good for third overall. Teammate Alex Hughes posted the best score of the night with a 9.425.

Thompson was fourth overall in the balance beam with a score of 8.95. Sophomore Kristin Weniger edged her out for the top team score with a 8.975.

Sophomore Alisha Anderson won the uneven bars with a score of 8.875. Sophomore Brynn Stenslie scored a 9.475 in the floor exercise to take second overall.

The Pipers will compete at UW-Whitewater next Friday. Meet time is set for 7:00 p.m.
