Gymnasts compete at Cal State-Fullerton Quad

Behind the all-around performance of Kristen Weniger, the Pipers had a solid showing at the Cal State-Fullerton Quad held Friday night in Fullerton, Calif.

The Pipers finished with a five-person score of 181.375 to finish fourth overall. Host Cal State-Fullerton won the meet with a 192.225. Southern Utah was second (190.575), and UC-Davis was third (189.675).

Sophomore Kristen Weniger finished fourth of seven competitors in the all-around with a score of 36.825. She posted 9.25 in both the vault and uneven bars. Weniger also scored a 9.375 on the floor exercise.

In individual events, sophomore Brynn Stenslie gave the Pipers their best finish of the evening placing eighth overall in the floor exercise (9.425).

Sophomore Kayla Sirmans was 14th in the uneven bars (9.35), and senior Carly Thompson was 14th in the balance beam (9.1). First-year Susan Francis had the highest Piper score in the vault with a 9.4.

The Pipers will compete at Gustavus next Friday. Meet time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
