Gymnasts take second at Best of Minnesota

With a score of 179.225, Hamline took second at the Best of Minnesota meet held Saturday night in Minneapolis, Minn.

The Pipers defeated both Division III schools in attendance with the score of 179.225. The University of Minnesota won the meet with 191.625. Winona State was third, and Gustavus was fourth.

Senior Katie Davis led the Pipers in both the vault and balance beam. Davis scored a 9.5 on vault, tying with teammate Alex Hughes for eighth place overall. She also posted an 8.675 to finish 10th in the balance beam.

Sophomore Kayla Sirmans was sixth in the uneven bars with a score of 9.325. Sophomore Kristen Weniger tallied a 9.375 in the floor exercise to finish fourth.

The Pipers will compete at UW-La Crosse next Friday. Meet time is set for 7:00 p.m.
