Pipers finish second at home triangular, Weniger wins all-around

Kristen Weniger (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) won the all-around title in her home gym, as the Pipers finished second to UW-La Crosse while defeating Gustavus on Friday night.

UW-La Crosse took the team title with a score of 177.375, while Hamline finished second at 172.825 and Gustavus Adolphus College was third at 169.975. Piper gymnasts earned titles on three out of the four apparatus.

Weniger took the all-around title with a score of 35.700 (8.9 vault, 8.7 uneven parallel bars, 8.875 balance beam, and 9.225 on the floor exercise). She took the title on the uneven bars and on the floor exercise.

Brynn Stenslie (Jr., Renton, Wash.) won on the balance beam, scoring a 9.350 to edge out her competition from UW-La Crosse by .025. She finished second to Weniger by the same margin on the floor exercise.

The Pipers head to UW-Stout next Friday night to take on UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire, and Gustavus in the John Zuerlein Invitational at 6:00 p.m.
