Pipers win balance beam, all-around titles in loss to Winona

The Hamline University gymnastics team won on the balance beam and in the all-around total, but lost a narrow four-point decision on the road at Winona State in a dual meet, 178.300 to 174.050.

Brynn Stenslie (Jr., Renton, Wash.) won on the balance beam by a point over her nearest competitors with a score of 9.350. She also finished third on the floor exercise with a 9.225.

Another top-three performance came from Alisha Anderson (Jr., Spring Lake Park, Minn.), whose score of 9.000 on the uneven bars was good for second.

Kristen Weniger (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) took home the all-around title with a total score of 35.700 (9.175 on vault, 8.750 on the uneven bars, 8.550 on beam, and 9.225 in the floor exercise). Weniger's highest event finish was in the floor exercise, where she finished second.

Molly Weber (Fy., Taos, N.M.) was third in the all-around scoring with a tally of 34.825 (vault - 8.850, bars - 8.200, beam - 8.550, floor - 9.225). Her highest event finish was tie for fourth on the balance beam.
