Piper gymnasts topple Oshkosh, Weber wins all-around
![]() ![]() After the first event, Oshkosh held a 45.150-37.500 advantage, but the Pipers took the points lead on the second rotation and kept the momentum for the remainder of the evening. Hamline split events with Oshkosh, winning on the uneven bars (37.500-28.875) and on the balance beam (44.675-43.875). The Titans narrowly edged the Pipers on the vault (45.150-45.025), and won the floor exercise (42.125-40.925). Weber, competing in her first collegiate meet, took the all-around title with a score of 34.250 (9.025 on the valut, 7.875 on the bars, 9.100 on the balance beam, and 8.250 on the floor). Pipers finished first and second on the uneven bars, with Kristen Weniger (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) winning the event with a score of 8.025. Weber finished second. On the balance beam, Hamline swept the top three positions, Brynn Stenslie (Jr., Renton, Va.) winning with a score of 9.250. Weber was second, while Jessica Johnson (Fy., Big Lake, Minn.) earned a third place finish in her first collegiate appearance. Stenslie also scored a top-three finish on the floor exercise, finishing third with 8.550. Sarah Prosen (Fy., Apple Valley, Minn.) made her Piper debut by finishing second on the vault with a score of 9.175. The Pipers next compete on Friday, January 11 when they will travel to UW-Eau Claire for an invitational meet at 6:00 p.m. |
