Pipers finish fourth at UW-Eau Claire Invite

Just tenths of a point dropped the Hamline University Piper gymnastics team to fourth place in the four-team UW-Eau Claire Invite on Friday night.

Finishing with 169.875 points, Hamline was less than a point from second place UW-Oshkosh, who had 170.700 and from third place UW-Eau Claire, who finish with 170.150. UW-LaCrosse left in first place with a dominate 177.00 point performance.

The Pipers lone event winner was Brynn Stenslie (Jr., Renton, Va.), who took the title on the balance beam with a score of 9.050, barely edging out her nearest competitor from UW-La Crosse.

Sarah Prosen (Fy., Apple Valley, Minn.) finished in fourth on the floor exercise with a score of 9.150. Kristen Weniger (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) was fourth in the all-around with a total score of 34.200 and Molly Weber was sixth with a total score of 33.950.

The Piper gymnasts compete at home for the first time this season next Friday, January 18, when they will host Gustavus and UW-LaCrosse at 6:00 p.m. in Walker Fieldhouse.
