Gymnasts defeat UW-Stout 173.35-164.925

Hamline won their third straight meet of the season, defeating UW-Stout 173.35-164.925 Friday night at the Walker Fieldhouse.

The Pipers won all four events as a team and three of four individually.

First-year Kayla Sirmans led the Pipers in the floor exercise with a score of 9.2. She was one of four Pipers to score above a 9.0. Junior Caitlin Goodin tallied a 9.175; first-year Brynn Stenslie scored a 9.15, and first-year Alex Hughes added a 9.05. Hamline outscored the Blue Devils 45.4-43.65 in the floor exercise.

Stenslie and Hughes each won individual events as well. Stenslie was first in the balance beam (9.275). Hughes won the vault (9.175).

Hamline dominated the beam competition winning 43.0-38.9 as a team.

The Pipers will next compete at the Best of Minnesota on Feb. 11. Meet time is set for 7:00 p.m.
