Pipers take second in Hamline Triangular

The Hamline gymnastics team came up one-tenth of a point short, taking second at the Hamline Triangular with a score of 177.15 Friday night at the Walker Fieldhouse.

UW-Eau Claire won the team competition with a score of 177.25. Gustavus was third with 174.1.

Hamline gymnasts earned the top score in two of the four events. First-year Brynn Stenslie was first in the balance beam with a score of 9.1.

First-year Kayla Sirmans had a 9.35 in the vault for the night's best score. Stenslie was third overall with a 9.175.

Sirmans went on to place third in the floor exercise with a 9.3.

Senior Emily Wind was second overall in the uneven bars, finishing with an 8.95.

The Pipers will compete at Winona State on Wednesday. Meet time is set for 7:00 p.m.
