Pipers finish second at Best of Minnesota

First-years Kayla Sirmans and Brynn Stenslie earned fifth place in the all-around after posting the highest individual scores in the floor exercise to help the Pipers capture second place atthe Best of Minnesota Saturday night at the University of Minnesota.

The vault proved to be the best apparatus for the Pipers as four of the six athletes received scores above a 9.0. First-year Alex Hughes finished 7th in the vault with a score of 9.350.  Sirmons scored a 9.225, Stenslie a 9.150, and senior Renae Stinar finished with a 9.100.

The highest finish of the night came from senior Emily Wind, who placed 3rd in the uneven bars with a score of 9.275.  Junior Caitlin Goodin also posted a strong showing on the floor exercise, finishing the event with a season best of 9.400.   

Sirmans was the lone competitor in the all-around for the Pipers. She finished 6th overall with a combined score of 34.950. 

The Pipers will host Gustavus and UW-Eau Claire in their final home meet of the season.  The meet is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
