Four Hamline University football players received second-team All-MIAC recognition, the conference office announced on Monday.

Center Ace Huff (So., Alamogordo, N.M.) was named to the offensive MIAC Second Team All-Conference. Defensive lineman Tyler Scholl (Sr., Trimont, Minn.), inside linebacker Brody Anderson (Sr., Floodwood, Minn.), and punter Devin Swanberg (Jr., Lindstrom, Minn.) all earned defensive MIAC Second Team All-Conference honors.

Huff was at the core of the Piper offensive line that allowed just 18 sacks in conference play - and just 1 sack in Hamline's two non-conference games.

Anderson led the Piper defense with 70 tackles (34 solo, 36 assists) this season, including 16.5 tackles for a loss of 61 yards and three and a half sacks for a loss of 23 yards. Anderson had four interceptions for 37 yards and three fumble recoveries for 30 yards, as well as three force fumbles.

Additionally, Anderson was named to the 2007 MIAC All-Sportsmanship team. Members of the MIAC All-Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.

Scholl tallied 56 tackles (31 solo, 25 assists) this season, 13 tackles for a loss of 44 yards, and six sacks for a loss of 27 yards. He also earned credit for a fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, and a safety.

Swanberg averaged 37.4 yards per punt on 65 punts for a total of 2,425 yards with a longest punt of 59 yards. He forced Piper opponents to start from inside the 20-yard line 13 times this season.

Hamline finished the 2007 season with a 3-7, 1-7 MIAC record, highlighted by a double-overtime 41-34 win over St. Thomas on November 3 that gave the Pipers their first victory over the Tommies since 1995.
