Anderson, Schultz earn All-West Region accolades

Both Brody Anderson and Tyler Schultz were named Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-West Region honorable mention, the publication announced on Monday.

Schultz, from Rollingstone, Minn., earned all-region honors from the Gazette for the second time of his career. He was named All-West region first team in 2005.

He finished his career with 362 tackles after leading the Pipers for the fourth straight year in the category. He was the second-leading tackler in the MIAC during conference games, averaging 9.0 tackles per contest. He also added two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.  For the entire season, Schultz made 82 tackles (46 solo, 36 assists).

Schultz was named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V on November 9.

Schultz was a two-time All-MIAC first team and ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V selection. He was named to D3football.com All-West Region third team this season. He also received Pre-Season All-American by Don Hansen's Football Gazette prior to the 2006 season.

Anderson, from Floodwood, Minn., was third on the Pipers with 60 tackles (31 solo, 29 assists). He led the Pipers and was sixth in the MIAC in tackles for loss with 12.0. He forced one fumble and recovered four others. It was the first time in his career that Anderson was named to an all-region team.
