Kaczrowski named MIAC Hitter of the Week

After Hamline University junior shortstop Dan Kaczrowski (St. Anthony, Minn.) led the Pipers to a 3-1 week and a long-awaited win over St. Olaf, he was named the MIAC Hitter of the Week, the conference office announced today.

Last week, Hamline swept Concordia (11-5 and 5-2) before splitting with St. Olaf (4-3 win and a 14-2 loss). The win over St. Olaf was the first since April, 2004.

Kaczrowski hit .706 while going 12-for-17 at the plate, and was perfect at shortstop in those four games.

In the opener against Concordia, Kaczrowski went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. He went 2-for-4 with two RBI in game two and with the scored tied at 1-1, hit a lead-off homerun in a three-run fifth inning for the Pipers.

In the win over St. Olaf, Kaczrowski went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, including his 12th double of the season.

For the season, Kaczrowski is hitting .491 with 12 doubles, 3 triples, 3 homeruns, 29 RBI, and is 13-for-15 in stolen base attempts.
