Baseball picks up non-conference win
Paulson (1-0) struck out seven and walked three in his first substantial work of the season. It was his first start of the year. The Pipers (16-14) jumped out to a 4-0 lead after four innings and were never threatened after that. Left fielder Derek Rundquist and designated hitter Morgan Pontiff each added RBI singles in the second inning. Right fielder Alex Buresh and center fielder Brandon Hunter each drove in runs in the third and fourth innings, respectively. Hunter, Rundquist, and Pontiff added two hits to the Pipers' 12-hit attack. The Pipers added three runs in the eighth to put the game away.
