Provost Responsibilities The Hamline University Provost provides leadership and direction for the long-range planning process, the annual priorities for action, and the budget, and oversees the following areas: Academic Affairs for the all academic units at Hamline University: College of Liberal Arts, Hamline School of Education, Hamline School of Business, and the School of Law Athletics Bush Memorial Library Academic Advising Center for Teaching and Learning Diversity Initiatives Institutional Research Learning Outcomes Assessment Registration and Records Off-campus and International Programs Sponsored Programs Student Affairs Writing Center Sustainability at Hamline The Provost also: Provides intellectual and administrative leadership of the faculty and academic support staff. Oversees the development of the academic program and the assessment of student academic performance. Recruits, orients, develops, and evaluates the faculty. Develops and administers the curriculum. Supervises the academic support programs. Develops and recommends the academic budget, in consultation with deans, department chairs and program directors.
