Star of David
a Becket formation contra by David Kirchner

A1
Circle left 3/4 and pass through; pass next by left shoulder (8)
Dosido third neighbor (8)

A2
Left hand star with 2nd neighbors; take neighbor in promenade position* (8)
Promenade around large oval (8)

B1
Return (8)
Ladies lead into right hand star; ladies turn back over left shoulder

B2
Allemande left neighbor 1/2, ladies allemande right 1/2 (4)
Swing partner (12)

Notes: The *promenade position needs to be in the style used on much of the east coast, with the gent's right hand stretched behind the lady's head, holding her right hand above her shoulder. Then the turn as the couples turn at the end of the promenade will naturally put the ladies in front of the gents as they return to the second star.

This is just a woefully complicated dance which I abandoned after one attempt. My thanks to the dancers of Baltimore for gamely taking a shot at it. Comments? Send me e-mail.

Return to dances I've written or experiments and failed ideas.
