The Writing Center offers many services in support of core goals of the Hamline Plan, mainly to develop each students's written communication skills. Staff and peer tutors assist students at every stage of the writing or presentation process including:

• Brainstorming
• Planning
• Researching
• Outlining
• Editing
• Revising

By addressing each student's unique concerns, the Writing Center staff seeks to offer concrete problem-solving methods that students can apply to their future assignments. In addition, cassette players, computers, a typewriter, and meeting space for writing assistants are available for student use. Writing Center services are available on a walk-in basis during regular posted Writing Center hours.
