Special Topics in Journalism

Special Topics in Journalism examines the practice and theory of journalism, taking up a different topic each year and developing media projects to display our work. This year we will be looking at the world of broadcast writing and production. Students will shoot video in the field, create packages, and participate in the studio production of three newscasts. Along the way we will discuss the ways in which broadcast news, particularly television, differs from print journalism.
