Interview program needs more participants
Last Thursday, with one day left to register for the Career Development Center’s practice interview program, over 200 students have yet to register for the experience. And most of those students have courses requiring registration.
It does not make any sense for students not to participate in practice interview week, CDC Director Rich Manke said. The reason, he said, was partially based in efficiency.
“They’re going to shave weeks off their job search,” Manke said. And the results are not intangible. “Some students have been asked to interview for real jobs,” Manke said.
The CDC would like to have students participate in two practice interviews before they graduate.
This is the time of year students need to come into the CDC, Manke said. “It’s hard to do a job search in the Twin Cities if you’re living in Armpit, Iowa,” Manke said.
As of press time, 203 students who are required to participate in the program had not yet registered.
