Blaze boots students from second home
A house caught fire while two Hamline renters were inside on Jan. 28. The Oracle could not confirm any injuries.
“We’re all OK,” junior Lindsay Knoll said in a telephone interview about her roommate and boyfriend, who were in the house when it caught fire.

Women's hockey win five of six, Piper record books rewritten daily
While January was a time of rest and relaxation for most Hamline students, the month was when the women’s hockey team went to work on the MIAC standings. The Pipers won five of six contests in J-term, propelling them to fourth place in the MIAC. Their only loss coming at home, on January 26. The Pipers fell at hands of St. Mary’s (1-2) only to pound them 6-1 the very next night on the Cardinals’ home ice. The loss to St. Mary’s concluded a streak of seven victories. The 2006-2007 Pipers set a new school record for consecutive wins.
