Fur-filled faces, legs finish No Shave November

Staff Writer

Where have all those hairy men and women gone? Well, November’s over, and they’ve all started shaving again.
Aleksey Ozerkov’s campaign for No Shave November came to an end. At the event’s finale on Dec. 1, participants had their after photos taken to help gauge their hair growth over the month. “I wanted to see what I looked like after a month of no shaving,” first-year Adam Letson said.

Ozerkov developed the idea to resist shaving for an entire month to help fundraise for the Leukemia Foundation. Over 60 students agreed to participate. However, about half of the participants could not handle the intense temptation to shave, and dropped out.

Many men complained about itchy necks and prickly faces. First-year Dylan Bauer said, “I kept telling myself ‘Don’t shave, don’t shave!’”

Another participant, sophomore Stevie Hottman, confessed to Ozerkov, “I shaved a little . . . I had a date.”

Ozerkov said he was hoping to get a website running with everyone’s before and after photos on which people could vote for men’s and women’s most and least impressive facial and body hair. Four men and four women were chosen as finalists to collect donations at the End of Semester Party on Dec. 8, and the winner received a gift certificate to Target.
