Walking without fear
If it were another night I probably would have been at my apartment.
Instead, I was standing with a group of six others, leaving clouds of my breath with theirs at the base of the Bishop. It was Wednesday night, the day after the first snow of the year, and the prospect of staying out in the cold for another hour suddenly seemed like a daunting task.

Artwork distracts, slows drivers at neighborhood intersections
Students driving on Englewood or Pascal Avenue have noticed the large, colorful paintings on top of the usually grey pavement.
These paintings belong to the neighborhoods participating in a new movement in St. Paul called Paint the Pavement. On Aug. 26, over 55 kids and adults got on their hands and knees at the intersection of Englewood Avenue and Syndicate Street to paint a mural designed to attract drivers’ attention and make them slow down.

Visits to metro museums begins at local libraries
You may have always wanted to visit the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (which houses nearly 100,000 pieces of art and consistently offers nationally recognized exhibitions). You may have always planned to go to the Minnesota Zoo to enjoy the exotic wild animals or periodic anthropological exhibits. You may have never made it because you didn’t have the money. This excuse doesn’t count anymore.

Football gets clobbered by Cobbers at Homecoming
October 7 may have been the last really nice day of the year, as far as weather is concerned. The temperature was 63 degrees Fahrenheit and the wind was blowing at a speed of 10-15 miles per hour the Midway. The last nice day of the year coincided with the celebration of Homecoming at Hamline and the Pipers were looking forward to the game. They were winless in the MIAC and 2-2 overall coming into the match-up against Concordia.

Beyond the Bedroom
I’m a freshman in college and I have a boyfriend back in my hometown (which is six hours away) who is a senior in high school. I have been enjoying college life, but I am feeling a bit stressed. My boyfriend seems more dependent since I left, and I am starting to think I may need to move on. But now he's started talking about going to the same college as me so we can be close to each other. I really care about him so, how can I break it off without hurting his feelings?
