Administrative candidates visit campus

The second of a small group of candidates for the CLA dean position visited campus last week. Dr. Frances (Dee) Haemmerlie Montgomery, the associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri-Rolla visited with a small group of students at the student forum last Thursday.

Montgomery chatted with students six CLA students. Sophomore Matrika Bailey-Turner, who serves on the CLA dean search committee, was also present.

Also visiting campus was the first of candidates for the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs position.

Dr. David Stern, professor at the University of Toledo, visited with a graduate student last Thursday.

The VP position is the chief academic officer of the university and oversees all of the academic affairs across the university, including the CLA, School of Law and the various graduate programs. The search is being handled by Bill Funk of Korn/Ferry International.

In the interest of fairness and analysis, the Oracle will publish the details of the candidates’ curriculum vitae, their academic resumes, when all candidates have visited campus.
