University reacts to City Pages
Hamline found itself abuzz with rumors after the university found itself on the cover the March 15 edition of City Pages. Former adjunct professor Steve Philion told the story of problems that arose in the class he taught and how he came to leave Hamline to accept a tenure-track position at St. Cloud State.
The article, entitled “The Wanted Man,” outlined an incident in the course Philion was teaching --“Racial and Cultural Minorities”--in which two students (whose names cannot be disclosed due to privacy issues), dissatisfied with the course. Both students felt singled out in class and felt that Philion’s course focused too much on African-American history in the United States and did not give sufficient time to other minority groups.

It’s unusual for coffee cream and shaving cream to unite palatably, but oddly that’s exactly what’s happened at Curly’s Barber Shop on Snelling Ave. in the Midway. A weird combination to some, but not to owner Ted Bollman. In November 2005, Rendezvous Coffee, owned by an Ethiopian couple, opened in the front entrance of Curly’s. What could have been a clash of cultures turned into a new coffee community.

Administration oversteps powers, censors Oracle
The Oracle was censored last Wednesday when, at the request of University Relations Director Jaqui Getty, the Oracle Online was pulled offline without our permission. This attack on our editorial control of our paper is an overstepping of the administration and a violation of the Student handbook.
On March 28, our yearly mock issue, the rhetOracle, was published. This annual issue is regularly released around April Fool’s Day. One particular article cause quite a large stir.

Student creations draw curious cookie-seeking crowd
Convo hour on Tuesday, March 28, was a chance for students who work in the Writing Center to show off their skills and read their own works for whomever would listen.
The pieces were both fiction and non-fiction and included a Nerf-gun Western, a reality television show premise, an account of drugs in a Minneapolis neighborhood, a history of disability legislation in the United States and France, and the experience of a support group for survivors of abuse.

Mens tennis returns triumphant, womens with mixed results, both get tans
The Florida air was, for the most part, kind to Hamline tennis. The mens team thrived, and despite being thrust from the cold calm of Minnesota into the sweltering Florida sun, the team was able to take five of their six matches. The women were not so fortunate, as they lost to each of the five teams they came up against. Nevertheless, the two teams both had standout players give performances of unparalleled aestheticism, and both came home with fantastic tans and spirits to match.
Junior Kristen Bothun and first-year Kelly Gust make up the team’s first doubles pair, and are the program’s only undefeated team. While Bothun and Gust have each lost in individual competition, they remain unstoppable as a duo in and out of the region. It seems that even when the two lose in their respective singles slots (occurrences that have been rare this season), they are able to pull out the win in doubles.

Under the Covers
With April Schmitz
Dear Under the Covers,
I want to be intimate with my boyfriend, but it takes him so long to ejaculate! I try to give him a handjob, but I can’t go fast enough to get him off before my arm starts to hurt. Then I tried giving him a blow job, which he loves, but I still can’t move fast enough! I feel bad that he has to finish the deed himself, and I get so stressed during the heat of the moment that I don’t enjoy myself. Help!
Much Too Tired
