Klas Field to be renamed by new sponsor, Haliburton
The rhetOracle is a mock issue of Hamline's undergraduate newspaper, the Oracle. We are trying to be as derisive as possible. Please enjoy the farcical nature of this issue or at least, ignore us.
Being that Klas Fields name contract is good through Spring 06, Hamline administrators have placed the athletic field on Free Agency. This sparked a bidding war over rights to naming Hamline’s athletic field. The subsequent bidding war featured two titans of the business world, Three-Two Beer Inc., and Haliburton. The CEO of Three-Two Beer Inc., Cliff Patterson, and Haliburton ambassador Dick Cheney met recently to discuss the details of the potential deal. Haliburton mysteriously pulled through as the top-bidder after an unfortunate water-fowl hunting accident, wherein Patterson was shot in the face.
Haliburton is still unsure what name they will choose for the field, but inside sources suggest that it is between Freedom Field and the Halibowl.
