Under the Covers...With Nick Bell

Dear Nick:

I am not one to experiment very often but I have always been curious about trying out sexual toys with my partner. We have played it by the books when it has come to sex but are now sadly growing bored with the normal routine. I have heard from one of my friends about anal beads. I honestly do not know anything about them but they sound intriguing. Have you ever encountered them and are they pleasurable?

Anal-yze This

Well my poor friend with the ebbing sex life, whenever I find myself falling into an abyss of boring, bleak sex I look for something new and exciting. If I’m really bored, I may even go for something kinky. I also suggest the same for you, especially since you seem interested in the uses of the intriguing anal beads.

Anal beads are used to increase your orgasm and can be used by both men and women. There are pleasant sensations caused by your sphincter opening and closing over small round objects. However, the bang for your buck usually comes when you climax, as the rippling effect of the beads combines with the natural contractions of your anus to create an orgasm that can only be equated to levitation. Of course, anal beads may not have this effect for everyone and they may be awkward to at first, especially if you haven’t tried anything anal before. In my experience, a majority of people seem to like the beads pulled out at the point of orgasm.

Now, if you deciede to go this route, you will quickly find out when you try to purchase your brand-spanking-new set of anal beads that there are different kinds. Anal beads come either on a string or as balls in a line. These beads are also made from different materials and come in different sizes. Some anal beads start smaller and get larger in diameter as you push them inside. As an anal bead beginner, I would recommend using what are termed as Blue Beads, which are made of jelly rubber. These beads have a nice, smooth texture, but be forewarned that this particular kind cannot be completely disinfected, so don’t pass it around to friends. I wouldn’t recommend sharing them with your partner either; even if you are accustomed to sharing all your bodily fluids and orifices.

I would recommend going for the generic silicone beads, which are comfortable, flexible, and hygienic. There are also plastic, metal, and acrylic, beads. These are harder materials and usually strung on a string. The aforementioned flexible beads are in linear form. But always remember to leave the pull ring (or the last bead if there is no pull ring) outside of the anus. As anyone can tell you that has experienced it, once something goes all the way into your rectum, it can be pretty damn hard to get out. If a bead (or other object) does get stuck inside your rectum, you must see a physician.

Before you begin, make sure that you are both relaxed and have plenty of lubrication on hand, as the sphincter does not self-lubricate. Make sure there are no rough edges on the beads so they will not tear your rectum and that the beads are securely connected, and wash your beads with soap and warm water after use. These seem to be rather common-sensical, but I know what happens in the heat of the moment.

Anal beads can be fun and extremely pleasurable. If you wish to be discreet about it, they are easily available to order online. A place to start online is goodvibes.com which is a sexual health site containing an online store too. Otherwise, march on over to your nearest adult entertainment store with your partner, have a look, and discover the endless possibilities of sexual gratification.
