News Brief

HOPE fights hunger and homelessness

Nov. 13-19 is National Hunger and Homelessness Week. On Nov. 17, HOPE, which stands for Homelessness Outreach Performance Event, will take place in St. Paul to raise awareness of the plight of homeless Minnesotans.

The gathering will run from 7-10 p.m. and will include performances by local musicians and the Minnesota Business Academy drama club. The event will take place at Minnesota Business Academy at 505 Wabasha Street North in downtown St. Paul in the former Science Museum building.

Seven Twin Cities colleges, including Hamline, are sponsoring the event, along with Minnesota Business
Academy, the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless, and numerous other foundations. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring items to donate, such as winter coats, clothing, or non-perishable food items. Donations will go to Listening House and Family Place of the Twin Cities.
