Editorial: Going beneath Under the Covers

Last week, Dean of Students Alan Sickbert received inquires about if the assault was on campus, and if so, why had Residential Life, Safety and Security and other administrative offices not informed the campus of the incident. Upon inquiry, the question printed in the Oct. 11 Under the Covers, Nick Bell’s weekly sex column, did not happen. The question was used for educational and entertainment purposes.

For this confusion, we are sorry.

We are continuing the column. However, now a disclaimer will be present at the end, stating that some situations are fabricated for educational and entertainment purposes.

We, the Oracle staff believe that sexual violence is an issue that must be addressed, and we will continue to push for education and change.
