Music Department’s schedule full
The university’s Music Department has a great season lined up. They have more artists featured than you can shake a stick at.
They’ve got a great variety of music ranging from string quartets, to fingerstyle guitarists. So if you love music and you love to hear it played exquisitely, be sure to mark down these dates:
Events to look out for in Sept.
• Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m.-Keyboard Conversations© with Jeffrey Siegel at Sundin Hall, featuring Mozart’s A Minor Sonata, and Beethoven’s Sonata Pathentique. For tickets, call 651-523-2459.
Admission is free for students.
Events to look out for in Oct.
• Sunday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.-Recital by Rose Ensemble members at Sundin, featuring Jordan Sramek, (tenor), and Tim O’Brian, (baritone). Admission is free for students.
• Sunday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m.-Artaria String Quartet in concert at Sundin, featuring the music of Mozart, Shostakovich, and Dvorak. A short pre-concert performance by artists from the Artaria Chamber Music School will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free for students.
• Saturday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m.-Muriel Anderson, of the MN Guitar Society will be playing fingerstyle guitar at Sundin. If you play guitar, you’ll want to check this out!
• Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m.-The Musical Offering at Sundin, featuring the music of J.S. Bach, Ilja HurnÆk, and Franz Schubert. For tickets, call 651-523-2459. Admission is free for students.
• Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m.-Rose Ensemble concert at Sundin, “Common Threads ą Exploring of Shared Texts Among Early Christians and Jews”. Admission is free for students.
• Sunday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m.-The Minneapolis Quartet at Sundin, featuring music by Mendelssohn and Bartok. For tickets, call 651-523-2459.

• Friday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m.-International Fingerstyle Guitar Night at Sundin, featuring Claus Boesser-Ferrari, Isato Nakagawa, and Sandor Szabo. If you play guitar, you should come and check this out!
• Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.-The Lloyd and Mildred Sundin Memorial Concert for Parent and Family Weekend at Sundin Hall, featuring the Hamline University music ensembles. (Tickets are reserved for parents and family members only).
• Sunday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m.-The Musical Offering at Sundin Hall, featuring the music of Carl Nielsen, Sir Lennox Berkeley, and Johannes Brahms. For tickets, call 651-523-2459. Admission is free for students.
• Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.-Keyboard Conversations© with Jeffrey Siegel at Sundin, featuring Mozart’s D Minor Fantasy and Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy. Admission is free for students.
• Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6:15 p.m.-College Jazz Workshop sponsored by the Department of Music. Admission is free for students.
• Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and 19 at 4 p.m.-The Oratorio Society’s Annual Thanksgiving Concert at Sundin. For tickets, call 651-209-6689 or toll free at 1-800-762-6353
