Letter to the Editor: Animal rights org angry with chicken bowling
In regards to the chicken bowling event put on by the Theta Chi fraternity on campus, we would like to express our disappointment in this unkind, barbaric activity. It’s an outrage that a living being was killed for nothing more than a greased chicken game. The chicken used for this bowling game was once a sentient being, killed for a senseless game. To make the choice to play this game is to make the choice to allow suffering and death, and this is unjustifiable.
When speaking with a fraternity member, we were informed that next year they may use a head of lettuce instead of a chicken. Please, Theta Chi, make this switch and be respectful of all living beings.
