Letter to the Editor: The best damn college paper, period.
To everyone who likes to find fault with the Oracle, I would just like to point out that they are a fantastic newspaper. For those of you who were too busy eagerly scanning the pages for typos to notice, the fine staff members at our esteemed campus newspaper are now the recipients of the esteemed “Best of the Midwest” award.
And no wonder č every issue this year has been chock-full of fascinating, scintillating stories involving hard-hitting investigative journalism, riveting human-interest pieces, and the best damn sex column in the tri-state area.
I can’t even begin to imagine the hours these journalists must spend at work. The dynamic writing and keen insights into Hamline life are nothing short of spectacular. I commend the students who spend hours each week working to better campus life with their brilliant awareness of campus issues, from the departure of Larry O. to the coverage of this year’s Fire Ball, those kids always manage to stay on top of things.
And the layout! Dear God, the layout. Their consistent use of sharp images, eye-catching graphics, incredible photographs, and eye for detail never ceases to amaze me.
Finally, not only is their coverage amazing, but damn, those journalists are hot. Have you been to an
Oracle meeting? If you haven’t and you’re single, I highly recommend dropping by. Or at least inconspicuously walking past the open door on Thursdays at 11:15 a.m., because odds are, you’ll like what you see.
Once more, congratulations to the Oracle staff on a job well done.
