Letter to the Editor: A thank-you to HUSC for helping to create on-campus recording studio
I want to inform the Hamline community that HUSC has been up to some good, too. Back in November, there was an article in the Oracle entitled “What would you do with $35,000?” in regards to the surplus money in the campus improvement account.
I took this offer to BER (Board of Elected Representatives) with an idea for a recording studio on campus. With many dedicated representatives interested in the project, a resolution for a recording studio was passed last Tuesday with a margin of 20 votes.
The initiative was completely student-run and will now open up the possibility for study in music production and opportunities for musicians to record and compose. I want to extend a thank you to HUSC for their support, especially Katie Vaughan (who co-authored the initiative) for helping bring this asset to Hamline.
If interested in this studio, stop down in the basement of Bush Library in the next few months and see what materializes.
