Hamline men’s soccer continued its late-season push with a 3-2 win over Concordia last Tuesday. The team improves to 4-5 in the MIAC and 11-6 overall with the win, and the Cobbers fall to 0-7-2 in conference play and 2-12-3 overall.

The Cobbers spotted the Pipers a penalty kick in the first half and a pair of goals less than five minutes apart in the second before the Cobbers staged a rally that fell short.

Hamline scored their first goal at the 25:17 mark on a penalty kick by Tony Vang. The Pipers then scored their final two goals at the 54:58 and 59:33 marks of the second half. Micha Merritt scored Hamline’s second goal and Jeremy Wade kicked in the third Piper goal.

Scoring for Concordia were Matt Klein and Brandon Root at the 69:45 and 84:36 marks of the game.

Concordia outshot the Pipers 15-8 in the game and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks, but the Pipers proved too strong for the Cobbers.
