Concordia dominates women’s soccer

Sports Editor

Hamline crumbled under the pressure of a much stronger Concordia squad last Wednesday, falling 5-0 to the Cobbers.

Concordia controlled the tempo of the game from the opening touch of the ball, and secured and dominated the middle of the field.

After facing numerous shots in the opening stages of the game, Hamline allowed a goal at the 15:45 mark by Cobber Kelly Ping’s goal. Concordia would again score at the 34:00 mark, shooting the ball past Piper goalie Betsy Seal.

Down 2-0 going into the second half, the Pipers needed a quick goal to get back in the game, but Concordia again proved to be too strong for the young Hamline squad, holding Hamline scoreless on their way to a 5-0 win.

Hamline managed only three shots in the game, one of which was on goal. The Cobbers had 25 total shots, with 17 on goal. Seal made 12 saves in the contest for the Pipers.
