Hall director takes leave
With Heights hall director and expectant mother Jennifer Fueglein preparing to take a leave of absence, two interns will temporarily become half-time hall directors until Fueglein’s return, Residential Life Director Patti Klein said.
The two interns, members of St. Thomas’ Leadership and Student Affairs master’s program, will each be working 20 hours per week, Klein said. During that time, each intern will utilize Fueglein’s office, serving as part-time hall director. Unlike Fueglein, they will not live on campus.

Thomas Harens for President!
Under scrupulous attention from scores of national media and millions of American voters, Vice President Dick Cheney and Senator John Edwards prepared for debate in Cleveland last Tuesday.
Seven hundred and fifty miles away, presidential candidate Thomas Harens sat down in Gingko’s coffee shop with a ham sandwich and a tall glass of milk. No one seemed surprised at Harens' appearance, and no one asked for an autograph or a photo. The counter worker acknowledged him politely, as she did with the customer in line before him.
And, luckily, the shop had Harens’ first meal choice.

Point/Counterpoint: College Democrat's Response
College Democrats and Republicans face off on the war on terror, the first of three point/counterpoints leading up to the election
Few people can forget country singer Daryl Worley yelping, in the run-up to the war in Iraq, “Have you forgotten?” Well, he’s certainly not singing any more. In the year and a half following the
invasion, it has become apparent that connections between Iraq and 9/11 were nonexistent. Even
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld admitted a week ago Monday that he knew of no “strong, hard evidence” linking Saddam Hussein’s Iraq to al-Qaida.
So, then, what is the point of talking about Iraq and the war on terror?
We have diverted troops away from the main focus, hunting down Osama bin Laden and his network.
